Real name is Art. I own a Verner powered ultralight trainer, now experimental weight shift trike N43886 and pieces of two Piper Cherokees. None of the above are exactly "affordable" despite the promises of Sport Pilot but the trike gets 2.3 gal./hour on auto 92 so is less expensive to fly. I am looking closely at a Skyraider ultralight that claims to be 103 legal. Any first hand knowledge of these folding wing taildraggers would be most welcome.

Hi flydiver,
I have limited knowlege of the skyraider but from the pictures I have seen I cant imagine it as 103 legal. If you go through with your plans be sure to take some scales and weigh it before you buy it.
