I'm new to the site and new to flying (sort of). I have soloed in a QuickSilver MX and I've taken a couple of 'introductory' flight lessons (a couple of years ago). I have, however, spent over 100 hours "Flying" various PC simulators. I've recently acquired an old MX with a Rotax 447 on it, but have yet to fire it up. I'm afraid that the sails and airframe may be suffering from 'old age', and possibly the engine as well.

So here's my current (but not firm) plan... I ...

There has been much discussion at the local UL hanger regarding this plane and it's possable problems mainly with the wing attachment and lack of supports. What do Y'all think of this plane? would you stick your butt in one?

My opinion,

The plane's wing attaches to the fuse with 5 bolts and has no support struts or wires, With this setup I bet that wing will flop like a wet noodle and possably break in turbulance. I would be willing to fly it once in dead calm conditions ...

Cherokee Partnership Available

Since "affordable" is a somewhat relative term, I would like to sell my 1/4 interest in a Cherokee 6. You have to need a plane that truly carries 5 adults and some bagage for 5 hours but if you do, a partnership is more affordable than owning the whole thing yourself. The aircraft is located in Shelton, WA. Specs and photos can be seen at http://www.flydiver.com/piper.htm

You can also buy the whole thing if you are really flush with cash.

In 1993 my wife and I had the great good fortune to sail as crew on an Aussie 53' motorsailor from Ventura California to Brisbane Australia. Once there we bought a used pop top Nissan "caravan" and spent five months touring the East coast of Oz. Late one afternoon as we were heading south toward Brisbane we spotted a small sign on a barbed wire fence that read "Microflights". The next morining we investigated and found a grass strip with the usual assortment of GA aircraft ...

In a nutshell, the FAA has become worried that some "Amateur Builders" have been getting excessive professional "educational assistance" and thus have not actually built, or provided, the required ...

The builder didn't worry much about building it light and the empty weight is circa 440 lbs. Since mine had the 503 and 2- 5 gal. tanks I knew I was committed to transitition it to ELSA when I bought it.

I noticed Flydiver is looking at a Sky Raider that is allegedly a legal 103 UL. It has to be built very light and can't have much more than a Rotax 277 or a Zenoah G25B to make weight, ...

I have a 35 hp 2SI engine with re drive, carb, muffler, prop and fuel pump for sale. I removed this from my Kit Fox lite about a month ago and it has approximately 90 hours on it. Everything was working great at the time of removal. I am asking $900 or best offer for the complete setup. This would be an excellent engine for a HiMax, MiniMax or similar ultralight. I also have the manuals for the engine.

It is too bad that the field is only around 1000ft as this allows me to make a run lift off then throttle back and land in order to come to a stop before the end of the field. Kevin McCune from NW Wisconsin. I'm plans building a CH701, have the rudder, stabilizer and elevator done. I started 7 months ago and have pretty much not done anything this summer. Camping and family stuff ya know! But I feel pretty good about my progress so far. I am presently trying to talk my wife into selling our two again and rarely used snowmobiles... so I can buy a wing kit
